Region 1 - Youth Service Activity for Easter

"Engage yourselves in service activity. Consider social service as service to God. This is the best way to earn God's Love. Love all and serve all. Your entire life will be sanctified thereby."

~ Sathya Sai Baba

In light of the spirit of Easter, the youth of Region 1 organised a service activity, which involved the collection of Easter eggs during our Young Adults Programme (YAP) meeting and Multifaith walk. These humble offerings were given to the children and elderly patients of our local hospitals - the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea and St George's Hospital, Tooting. It was initially anticipated that 108 Easter eggs would be collected but, in the name of Sai, the youth went beyond their expectations and a total of 120 eggs were collected. Both hospitals were astonished at the number of Easter eggs contributed and the patients were equally pleased with their gifts.

Swami says, "Service to man is service to God"; verily, we seek any opportunity to practice this. Swami also tells us that when we serve another, we should remind ourselves that we are serving the Divinity within that person; we are merely God's instrument.

We are most grateful to our beloved Swami for this gracious opportunity, and for inspiring us with this project.
