UK Floods: Relief Efforts by the Organisation

Below is an extract of communication sent out to centres and groups over the weekend in response to the floods affecting large parts of the country. If any of our Love & Light Reader wishes to donate the items listed, please contact your nearest centre / group. Whilst the date for collection is set for 13th February, we will continue to collect the items beyond this date due to the deteriorating situation:

The recent storms in UK have severely affected the lives of significant number of people throughout Cornwall, Devon and Somerset due to continued flooding and power outages. Many of us have watched or read about the courage of local communities in dealing with such adversity, as well as the untiring relief and rescue efforts by various governmental and voluntary agencies. As the severe weather conditions are predicted to persist for a while longer, the need exists for continued assistance and support.

You will all agree that as devotees of Bhagawan Baba, to respond to this need at our ‘doorstep’ is a sacred duty and opportunity to serve our fellow beings. SSSSO UK has thus taken a humble initiative to participate in the ongoing relief efforts immediately.

I request and encourage all the members of our Sai family in UK to come forward enthusiastically and participate in a spirit of oneness with our fellow beings, and as an offering of love and service to our beloved Bhagawan.

Following is a list of essential items that are needed. Please drop your item(s) with your Centre Chairperson by Thursday, 13th February:

Sleeping bags
Duvets / blankets
Body wipes
Snacks – biscuits, crisp packets, dry nuts

Let us pray to our beloved Lord Sai to shower His Divine Blessings on all those suffering in the current natural disaster. Through His Grace, let us serve those in need with humility and dedication.
