Region 6 - SSE Basic Training and Awareness Day

SSE (Sai Spiritual Education) is an important wing of the Sri Sathya Sai Service Organisation. It aids in the blossoming of excellence of children (the future generation) to their full potential through the innate values of love, peace, right action, non-violence and truth; thus helping to mould their characters and personalities.

As Baba says “Education is for life not merely for a living”.

A SSE Basic training day was recently held on the 1st of March in Farnborough for SSE teachers. It was attended by new and current teachers, helpers, parents, office bearers and those who were interested in knowing more about this programme.

The objective of this training was to give an in-depth view of the foundations of this noble and sacred programme which was entrusted to us by our Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba Himself. It focussed on the five teaching techniques, ie: Prayers, Silent Sitting, Story Telling, Group Devotional Singing and Group Activity so as to enhance and improve the learning experiences for our children and the guru’s confidence in delivering the programme. Other areas of the training included an Understanding of Child Development, The Tripartite Relationship of the child, parent and guru and the importance of Sadhana and spiritual practice in our daily life.

The trainers on the day were Dr Mahesh Narayan, Mrs Vidyulatha Narayan , Miss Nuleen Panday and Mr Yoges Yogendran.

The training day was inspiring to all those who attended which would enable members to apply the learning in SSE classes and in one’s everyday lives.
