Region 7 - Sharing Interfaith Understanding at the Bath Centre

Inspired by Swami and His teaching, “There is only one religion, the religion of Love”, the Bath Sai Centre has hosted a series of talks about different world religions. We have been fortunate to have a variety of religious leaders join our satsang and enhance of understanding of different faiths. We are ever grateful to Swami, that through His teachings we have found greater faith and are becoming better devotees; whatever the religious path we follow.

As Sai Baba said: “Each religion teaches man the righteous path; he has only to know it and march along” (Discourse 1978).

On Sunday 3rd August 2014, The Bath group was delighted to have Sheik Rashad Azami, former Imam of Bath Islamic Society come to speak. He chose to explain the deep inner meaning of Ramadan and fasting.

He explained that observing the fast, was not simply to develop compassion with the hungry and starving of the world, important though that is. There is also of deep spiritual benefit, of self purification, and of righteousness. Sheik Rashad echoed, the values expressed in Swami’s teachings of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non Violence, as he said this is at the very heart of Ramadan.
