Region 2 - Easwaramma Day Celebrations at Harrow West Sai Centre

Easwaramma day 2015 was celebrated with devotion and joy at the Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Harrow West. During this special year of our beloved Swami's 90th advent, the loving offerings made by the SSE children to Swami are memorable in many ways.

The altar looked beautiful in pink, with Mother Easwarmma's picture enhancing its beauty. After the initial prayers, bhajans were sung melodiously by the children, some of whom were singing for the very first time. As did the congregation, Swami would have enjoyed their singing very much, filled with devotion and love.

The newly formed SSE orchestra did a wonderful presentation with just a few weeks of practise. A familiar bhajan was played and sung by 16 musicians! The musical instruments included the trumpet, flute, veena, violin, electric guitar, saxophone, clarinet, recorders, harmoniums and tablas. It was truly spectacular to watch and listen to these talented children.

The Nursery and G1 children performed 2 plays from the early life of Swami. Little Sathya and Easwaramma reminded us all how loving and caring Swami always was, to his friends as well as the poor and the needy.

The G3Y1 class performed a short sketch of Swami Vivekananda's life story. The child performing as Swami Vivekananda was aptly named Vivek Anand and did a wonderful job of portraying the character. When the famous words were spoken, "Sisters and Brothers of America", one could feel the impact of Swami Vivekananda's speech all those years ago. Thunderous applause followed the drama, so well presented by all 4 children, the 2 narrators, Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda.

The G3Y3 children did a short reading of Mother Easwaramma’s loving requests to Swami. Because of her love and compassion, Swami created the water, education and health care projects for the needy.

Finally, the children were presented with Sai books, encouraging them to read, enjoy and practise Swami’s teachings. The programme concluded with Aarti and closing prayers.

Today's wonderful programme was an example of how the love, encouragement and teachings from the SSE teachers and commitment and support of the parents worked wonders to bring out the talents of our beautiful children. Thank you Swami for showering us with Your grace and guidance.

With love and gratitude at Swami’s Divine Lotus Feet
