UK National Retreat 2014

National Event

Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Loving Sai Ram to you

By the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, I am delighted to announce the UK National Sai Retreat: Divine Grace: Fountain of Eternal Joy. The event promises to be a spiritually uplifting and thrilling experience, given its engaging theme and the high calibre of the Guest Speakers. And, not to say the least, the natural beauty of its location, Llandudno: The picturesque coastal town in North Wales facing the Irish Sea!

The effects of past deeds can be mitigated by earning Gods Grace. The means of securing Divine Grace is to cultivate qualities like truth, righteousness, love, compassion and forbearance. With these qualities life becomes a beautiful garden and a joy forever. Sathya Sai Speaks, volume 28, chapter 20

Like all Sathya Sai retreats, this Retreat will be a spiritual haven where devotees come together and fill their hearts with His Divine Love. Through various aspects of the Programme - prayers, talks, workshops, bhajans, music, interactive sessions etc - it will be an occasion to share our love and happiness with each other, and deepen our faith and resolve in the Message and Mission of our Divine Lord. By listening (sravanam), recollection (mananam) and contemplation (nidhidhyaasanam) on His Glory and Majesty at the Retreat, we will be able to experience His Divine Grace and the great joy that it brings!

The Love of God, evident as Grace, is the greatest achievement of man. Water flows from a higher level to the lower levels. Gods Grace too is like that. It flows down to those who are bent with humility. So, give up the ego, overcome jealousy, and cultivate love. How can man be truly at peace with himself and with others, if he does not endeavour to win the Grace of God? Sathya Sai Speaks Volume15, Chapter58

With the Divine Blessings of our Lord, I am very pleased to announce our Guest Speaker for the Retreat, Professor M Nanjundaiah, who is the former Controller of Examinations, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Professor Nanjundaiah is a longstanding and ardent devotee of Bhagawan who was blessed to be in His Presence and serve Him in various capacities. It was in 1973, that he joined the Sri Sathya Sai College of Arts, Science and Commerce at Whitefield as a Reader and the Head of the Commerce Department. Professor has had unique opportunities and many experiences in the divine presence. He had the rare privilege of translating Swamis discourses into English from 1981 to 1993.
