Louise R Illig

Guest Speaker Mrs Louise Rosemary Illig is an internationally reputed film editor, and an ardent devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She worked for German Television in London, and first heard about Sai Baba in 1989. In 1991, she visited Puttaparthi with Sandra and Aime Levy. At a Sai event in Croydon in 1992, she heard Professor Keith Critchlow talk about the Super Speciality Hospital at Puttaparthi. And then, she heard an "inner voice"! This 'inner voice' told her to make a film about the hospital! Louise thought it was an impossible project, as at that time no film about Swami had been made by a woman. But she says, "With Swami's grace, the idea for the film was blessed by Him and a one hour documentary "The Miracle of Puttaparthi" was produced in 1994. On one of her later trips to Puttaparthi, Dr.Goldstein told her that he had left a copy of "The Miracle of Puttaparthi" at the White House. Bill & Hilary Clinton both watched it and asked Dr.Goldstein to tell the filmmaker that they were inspire d by it and loved it!

Louise carried on to make further films about Swami: "Sai Baba & His Children", "Sai Baba's 70th Birthday" and in 1998 "Sai Baba - God on Earth". In the same year, she also produced the highly acclaimed documentary "Chartres Cathedral - A Sacred Geometry." She recalls," Whilst making the film, I had a vision of Swami walking down the South Portal of Chartres Cathedral in a yellow robe. I took it as a sign that He was pleased with my work".
